How Does Dealbulldog Work?

When you go shop online, Dealbulldog identifies the exact product or service you are looking for, and offers alternative offers in a separate browser pane (also called a sidebar) which you control. Through our network of partners, we scan thousands of merchants to find the best online deals, and if we find a relevant match for a specific product or service you are looking to purchase, we conveniently deliver these competing offers straight to you in a frame on the left side of the screen.


Which browsers does the Dealbulldog toolbar support?

The Dealbulldog toolbar is compatible with the following Internet browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6 and above on Windows (Vista, XP.)
  • Mozilla Firefox versions 2 and above, including beta versions, on Windows (Vista, XP.)

How do I install the Dealbulldog toolbar?

Internet Explorer users

  1. Click the Download Toolbar button.
  2. In the File Download window, you are given the option to Run or Save. We recommend that you click Run to automatically download and install. (If you want to choose where the installation files will be placed, however, choose Save and then manually activate the installation afterwards.)
  3. Clicking Run begins the installation process, which takes a few minutes, depending on your Internet speed. In the Dealbulldog toolbar Installation window, configure the additional settings and click Agree (to the License Agreement). The toolbar will then appear on your browser.

Firefox users

  1. Click the Download Toolbar button.
  2. If the Software Installation window is visible click the Install Now button and proceed from step 7. If the Software Installation window is NOT visible continue to step 3.
  3. Locate the yellow bar at the top of the page and click the Edit Options… button.
  4. Click the Allow button, and then click Close.
  5. Click the Download Toolbar button again.
  6. In the Software Installation window, click the Install Now button.
  7. When the download is complete, click Restart Firefox.

I don't see the Dealbulldog toolbar on my browser after the installation process

Make sure the toolbar is selected in your list of browser toolbars. Select View > Toolbars at the top of your browser and then select the Dealbulldog toolbar. If you still don't see the toolbar:

  • Confirm that your browser is compatible with our toolbar.
  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies from the browser.
  • Reboot your computer, and then reinstall the toolbar.

The Dealbulldog toolbar appears blank on my browser

The toolbar requires an active connection, so first of all, make sure you are connected to the internet. If the toolbar still appears blank on your browser:

  • Uninstall the Dealbulldog toolbar from the Add/Remove Programs item in the Control Panel.
  • Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  • Reboot your computer, and then reinstall the toolbar.
  • Restart your computer.

How do I change to a different homepage?

If you'd like to change your browser's homepage, open the Dealbulldog toolbar menu by clicking the down arrow next to the Dealbulldog logo, select Toolbar Info -> Options.


How can I stop the toolbar from loading the search homepage with each new tab?

The search homepage is an essential part of the toolbar, and we strive to make it a useful tool to help you have a faster more efficient surfing experience. If you'd like to change the page that loads with each new tab, open the Dealbulldog toolbar menu by clicking the down arrow next to the Dealbulldog logo, select Toolbar Info -> Options.


How do I uninstall the Dealbulldog toolbar?

The toolbar can be removed like any other Windows software, through the Add/Remove Programs window.

  1. Go to the Control Panel and launch Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features.
  2. Click on "Dealbulldog Toolbar" from the list of installed software to remove it.

I can’t uninstall the Dealbulldog toolbar

  1. Visit the Dealbulldog toolbar download page and reinstall the toolbar.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Uninstall the toolbar again.

Does the Dealbulldog toolbar conflict with my browser’s other add-ons?

Why did I get a page that says "The page was not found"?

If your Dealbulldog toolbar is currently active, and you got to a page with the message "The page was not found" it means the following that the Dealbulldog toolbar detected that the page you were navigating to was not found and offered you a helpful Search page instead of the standard page usually displayed, called a 404 or DNS error page. To disable this feature you need to uninstall and install the Dealbulldog toolbar and uncheck the “fix page not found errors”.


How do I enable or disable search from my Internet browser's address bar?

To disable this feature you need to uninstall and install the Dealbulldog toolbar and uncheck the “fix page not found errors”.


Can I remove the Search Box?

The Search Box is an essential part of the Dealbulldog toolbar experience and cannot be removed. You can search other search categories by clicking the down arrow on the right of the search button and selecting from the menu, which we hope you’ll find useful.


How can I add/remove a component from my Dealbulldog toolbar?

We are working to add an options menu to enable our users to further customize their toolbar. Please check back with a later version.


How can I control the appearance of Dealbulldog?

You can stop Dealbulldog from presenting any comparative offers for an hour, a day a week or more, by clicking the snooze option (marked as “zZ” at the top of the side bar).
You can also disable Dealbulldog by clicking the toolbar icon on the left, then selecting "toolbar info" > "Options" and unchecking "Find better deals for me while shopping".
